Terror Attack in South Kashmir Leaves One Dead, One Injured
A terrorist attack in the Kelam area of South Kashmir claimed the life of Deepak Ratray (24), while Bopinder (28) sustained injuries. The injured victim was immediately shifted to Government Medical College Hospital, Anantnag, where he is currently receiving treatment.
The incident has once again raised serious concerns about the security situation in the Kashmir Valley. According to initial reports, the attack occurred suddenly, leaving local residents shocked and security forces on high alert. Authorities have launched an investigation and intensified search operations in the surrounding area to track down those responsible.
Reacting to the incident, PDP Chief Mehbooba Mufti condemned the attack, calling it an “unimaginably cowardly act.” She stated that innocent people had gone about their daily lives with their families and never deserved such violence.
This attack comes shortly after another incident in Anantnag, where a police officer was attacked and fought for his life for nearly 10 days before succumbing to his injuries.
Although this incident was not on the same scale as the Pahalgam attack, it once again highlights the continuing threat of terrorism in the region and the tragic loss of innocent lives.
